The principal deity for a Homa Fire Offering is typically Padmakumāra (Lotus Youth), one of the Eight Personal Deities of the True Buddha School, or Golden Mother of the Jade Pond. Under special circumstances, the temple will recommend an appropriate principal deity.

Homa ceremonies are usually presided over by Acharya Lian Zhe, assisted by the temple's Dharma teachers. Venerable Lian Lei is also qualified to officiate Homa ceremonies.

Please prepare:

1. Two bouquets of flowers (preferably matching the principal deity's color; one for the altar and one for the fire offering)
2. Two sets of fruit (one for the altar and one for the fire offering)
3. Your favorite fruits (vegetarian or non-vegetarian are both acceptable; these will be blessed during the ceremony and may be taken home afterward)
4. Joss paper, spirit money, and lotus paper offerings (available for purchase at the temple's Buddhist supplies counter)
